What is Happening?
This organization is coming together to address the issue of water shortage in Sub-Saharan Africa. For most people, drinking water is something that we would expect to have, and something that is taken advantage of. In South Africa, having clean and safe water is a privilege. About one billion people do not have easy access to safe and clean water. Broken water pipes are common in Africa, and are contributing to the poverty and lack of resources in this area. The women and children of Africa are not able to show their full potential because they spend their days collecting water for their family. Sicknesses and diseases are being spread because of dirty water and many of the sicknesses result in death.
What are the Current Conditions?
Women and children have to walk long distances to collect water for their families, and most of the time this water is not clean. Billions of people are affected by this issue. Diseases are spread by drinking unsafe water, and many people are not drinking a healthy amount of water. These sicknesses and lack of sanitation result in a lack of education and a weak economy because of the poverty that Africa is facing. The lack in water also results in the disability to do simple household tasks.
